Next Chapter : Land of Contrast
September brings anticipation to the Rocky Mountains. The many splendors of the season are just around the corner. The aspens and the maples are about to take their last stand against the impending winter—a spectacular collision of color, light and weather will dominate the landscape for many weeks. I will immerse myself, as I do every autumn, into the unpredictable spectacle.
Autumn is much more than a season that showcases the cycles of nature to me. Autumn is more than just a time for photography. It is a time for watching and creating. It is a time for imagination and introspection … a time to refresh a sense of belonging that only comes from solitary moments of my life. Quite simply, autumn is a time to feel alive. I discover the purest expressions of the season in the midst of this experience. I look towards the land with great expectancy as the vitality of the summer months begins to fade. There, within the signs of autumn’s first color, is a foreshadowing of the events that are about to unfold.
It is for such moments that I carry a camera.
