The “Autumn” book will be available in Spring 2012.
October’s underbelly reminds me that autumn is a season of death. It’s a graceful death, the brittle end of autumn. As the last leaves quietly drift downward, the landscape fades into the long winter rest. Death. Fade to grey.
In this final stage of autumn I find a sense of completeness in my efforts. I have known the natural world, once again, in all its splendors and subtleties. I have created photographs worthy of representing these moments. As the season ends, I already look forward to next year and the renewal of season. I know that the land remains dormant only but a short time. There is no sadness. Autumn has come, and it passed.
I will know it again.
