5: Transient Rhythms

Next Chapter : Understory

Autumn is a time for the unexpected. There are few absolutes within the season, apart from the constant state of change. I know better than to hope for any particular set of conditions during my autumn photo adventures. I can only react to what I encounter along the way. Nature has a delightful way of exceeding my highest expectations.

The show usually happens without notice. Periods of intense calm are thrust into violent unrest.  I’m enjoying the warmth of an October afternoon one moment, only to turn the corner into blinding snow and bone-chilling winds. Within these fleeting moments lies the opportunity to make thrilling photographs. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
